What to Expect

Your First Visit

Please have all your paperwork completed, and arrive 15 minutes early to complete in the check in process. We set schedule one and one half to two hours of a therapist’s time for an evaluation.  Duration may also be affected by your child’s ability to participate, diagnosis, testing required, etc. You will need to bring your insurance card and prescription for therapy services (if already provided by your child’s Doctor).

You are required to accompany your child to the therapy area so the evaluating therapist may discuss your concerns and your child’s history information.  There are occasions when a child does not perform well with a parent present.  If this occurs the therapist may ask you to wait in the waiting room for the remainder of the evaluation.

The therapist will review your child’s history information with you and discuss your concerns.  Based on that information, all necessary testing will be administered.  The therapist will then review the results of the test(s), discuss areas of delay or impairment, and make recommendations regarding therapy.  If therapy is recommended, you may schedule future therapy sessions that day.

Therapy Appointments

Parents should arrive at the clinic 10 minutes in advance of a therapy session to ensure a smooth start to the therapy session. All copays, coinsurance, and deductibles will collected a the time of your appointment.  Charges for Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy services are dependent on the procedural codes used during the treatment session.

During your child's therapy session you have the option of observing the therapy session  in the therapy room, in the observation room, or you may wait in the waiting room.  Some children do not perform as well with the parent present.  If this occurs you may reserve the observation room in advance by scheduling it with the front office.

If you choose to leave the clinic during your child's' therapy session you must provide a contact number where you can be reached in case of emergency and you must return to the clinic 15 minutes before the hour.
