Children with Sensory Processing Disorders do not process sensory information the right way. When they receive information from their senses, their brain does not always know what to do with that information, leading to disorganization and confusion. This can appear as an overreaction or underreaction to sensory input, affecting their ability to function and communicate appropriately at school, in public, and even at home.

Other Symptoms:

• They may have trouble learning or making friends.
• They may be shy and withdraw from everyone, including family members.
• They may be picky eaters.
• They may have trouble coping and are prone to tantrums and meltdowns.
• They may be afraid of activities that most kids enjoy.
• They may have difficulty attending to tasks.
